Just to straighten out the FOOD thing....

So Ginny the beagle was over visiting on Sunday....Mom and our Gramma (Ginny's new human mom) left us...not for long, but heck, they did leave.

Ginny went sniffing around, damned beagle, just is always looking for food and she sniffs out MY dry food and I got a tad alarmed and told her to leave it alone...well then damned beagle said she was starving (she surely doesn't LOOK like she's starving) and so she talks me into takin' the container down and I managed to open it up and spread a bunch along the ground, so we had our food buffet.

It WAS that beagle...of course Winston who can be a pesty terrier, but I love him, didn't help either...anyway we ate way too much.

Mom gets home and she's pretty peeved, but I could tell she was going to start laughing (she's pretty mellow)...now she did look foolish trying to pick up the food we didn't eat and we all decided we'd best eat more and of course that helps her too...right?!

The bad thing is we didn't get fed that night...darn it. The good thing is we sure ate too much!

So again, it was Ginny the beagles' fault...

It's me...WINSTON....

It's great being a terrierist sometimes and I caused Mom some more grey hairs, but I swear...Tirawa made me do it. We were driving back home from our hike and we saw that darn cat that lives down the street and I told T that I had to chase it...and so when Mom opened our door to let us out of the truck, I SWEAR...Tman gave me a push and I was off like a ....well, like a terrier and after that CAT....

...ooops, Mom's hollerin' at me, T's dragging her down the road to catch up with me and I have to get that cat...it's always TAUNTING ME...gotta get it....oh no, he's going under the fence...ah, I'm a go to ground terrier and can get into SMALL places, here I go....

Well, Mom and Tman are hot on my tail and Mom sounded peeved...I realized that cat was up on the fence and decided I best get back to Mom...so went over to the place I got under the fence and she got me out...I gave her a kiss right away to let her know not to be pissed....

I WILL get that blasted cat.

TIRAWA and the Pawnees...

Through the years, many people have asked me what Tirawa's name means. The name was shared with me by some malamute breeders in Australia, when I knew I was getting a new puppy (almost 11 years ago now)...the story they sent was wrong regarding the name, but it too was beautiful.

Tirawa was actually Pawnee

Once among the strongest tribes of the Plains Indians, the Pawnee were found from the shores of the Platte River in Nebraska
south to the Arkansas River. Today they live mostly in Oklahoma.
'The white man' said the Kurahus, 'speaks of a heavenly Father; we say Tirawa atius, the
Father above, but we do not think of Tirawa as a person. We think of Tirawa as
in everything, as the Power which has arranged and thrown down from above
everything that man needs. What the Power above, Tirawa atius, is like, no one
knows; no one has been there.'When Kawas explains to the Kurahus the meaning of
the signs in the East, 'she tells him that Tirawa atius there moves upon
Darkness, the Night, and causes her to bring forth the Dawn. It is the breath of
the new-born Dawn, the child of Night and Tirawa atius, which is felt by all the
powers and all things above and below and which gives them new life for a new
day.'
